
The women's soccer team had 13 student-athletes recognized, while men's track and field had 12 team members honored. Women's rowing followed with 17 Academic All-Stars, while women's lacrosse finished with 15 honorees. Women's swimming and diving had 21 honorees, the highest number of any Scarlet Knight team. In addition, all athletes must have earned a varsity letter in a BIG EAST sport. Student-athletes are eligible to be named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star by maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 throughout the academic year.


In 2004-05, 149 student-athletes were recognized as Academic All-Stars by the conference. The 170 selections top last year's total of 154 honorees, showing continued improvement for Rutgers student-athletes.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights not only excel athletically, but also in the classroom, as 170 student-athletes have been named 2006-07 BIG EAST Academic All-Stars.
